Whimsy & Bloom

Welcome, friend.
This space was made for the woman who’s doing her best — even if the laundry’s piling up, the toddler’s climbing furniture, and her coffee’s gone cold again. You’re not alone here.

Whimsy & Bloom is a lifestyle blog for women and moms over 40 who are ready to nurture themselves, explore the mind, and rediscover the forgotten stories that shaped us.
It’s a space for dreamers, women of faith, deep thinkers, and beautifully imperfect moms who are craving real self-care, soulful living, and a break from pressure-filled perfection.

You won’t find unrealistic routines or “do more” culture here.
You’ll find encouragement, honest reflections, and resources that meet you right where you are — in the chaos, in the quiet, and in the mystery of it all.

Whether you’re looking for:

  • Mindful wellness that actually fits your life
  • Faith-filled encouragement for hard seasons
  • Cozy book recs and mental resets
  • Or forgotten pieces of history and psychology that spark something inside you…

You’ll find it here.

I’m Karla Marie — wife, mama of four boys (including a toddler I had at 43 😅), and a firm believer that it’s never too late to bloom.
I started this blog because I couldn’t find a space that felt honest, nurturing, and curious — so I built it.

So grab your favorite tea, take a deep breath, and stay awhile. I’m so glad you’re here.

And if something speaks to you, I’d love to hear from you — feel free to leave a comment on the blog or send a message through the contact page anytime.

The Lord will fight for you, you only need to be still.

One of My Favorite Scriptures

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

-Phillipians 4: 6-7

01

When you are in a period of stress, pray and lean on the holy scriptures. As a human I will give the best advice I can, but nothing beats the wisdom of God, that is found in the bible.

02

Your children are a blessing! They aren’t in the way of your dreams, they are an amazing addition to your life, yes your dreams may look different but that is ok. Trust me God has a beautiful plan for your life and that includes your children, you just have to learn how to navigate it all.

03

Self-Care is important! This is not the same as self-dependence. It is important to care for yourself because you cannot care for others if you are worn out sad and unhealthy.

It is important to take time to eat right, workout (even if its 10 minutes a day), and get enough sleep. These things are very important. You also need some time each day alone to sit and breathe. If you have small children, do it while they are sleeping.

You, My Friend

have come to the right place

My goal is to share everything I think will help you and help to prevent you from making some of the same mistakes I did. I’ve always had a desire to help others. I don’t want you to live a life of overwhelm but a life of peace and freedom.
